Games Trainers Play: The Florida Horse Saga
OMFG. My friend, trusting her trainer, sent links to the pics with a “what am I to do??” message… this is the email she got back…

"Epona’sFriend, I can understand your concern. It’s obvious that she’s in his mouth and the pix got progressivly worse. I sent all pix to trainer 2, so she could see for herself just what was going on. She rode the horse yesterday herself and loved him and could understand that the horse didn’t need a Kimberwicke. She put the girl on and she was amazed how the horse felt. trainer2 gave the student a good talking to and explained that she’s never ridden a horse like him and and that she has to learn to ride.I told her what to do to change the problem and she told me she was going to work on it. This has taught trainer2 a lot, too. I’m sure they’re going to buy the horse and that any future pix won’t make you cringe. Emearse yourself in work, keep busy and try not to obsess about it and it will soon be over, trainer1

Stab me with a fork, I’m done.
whooooooooopeee- thats just told me that said trianer 2-- is usless as a trainer aged i dont know but what a f&&*%$434’n joke
any any good trainer or horseperson should be able to see hw a horse is going on the ground – the girls been riding him for goud sake— what do you flipping do
teach with your eye – SHUT

what a lousy trianer- well useless one—would i have faith in trianer 2 if not for the saga
no - as just by that one sentence along would make me gringe and if she was givien a lesson i wouldnt flipping pay her for love nor money - thay havent a glue
of how to teach or what to look for in triaing a horse ameks me laugh

as you standing there on the ground and the horse is front of you-- being ridden why she had to change the bit is beyond me-- haha says a lot for her triaining and i cant stress that enough
this now tells me they a pile of - people looking for something for nothing as they havent a clue - but they have done this before
they appear to be trianers, and or havent a clue type as in last sentence above
so they get it cheaper— but underneath they are true blue scammers - end of period the whole lot of them are true proffessional scammers

Reading this thread makes me feel even better about not sending my horse on trial. Yikes. :frowning:

I’m curious, how did Epona’sFriend know about the pics and their location so she could email the link to the pics to Trainer 1? Did you (Epona) send her the link, or did she find the pics some other way (perhaps by reading COTH), or perhaps from another person with either good or bad intentions (the buyer, or Trainer 2)? Do show photographers always send links to owners (obviously I’m not show-savvy)? Gosh, maybe the buyer ordered pictures and told photographer to bill the owner.

I wonder if the bucking/refusing story was the original plan, and the photos were an unexpected surprise to Thing 1 and Thing 2, causing them to have to come up with a new story in a hurry.

New vocabulary word: “Emearse”. I am xtremely emearsed in this tale of intrigue.

another detective in the making-- well spotted --dci - glenaerie

so we have a horse, a girl. a family, atrainer 1 and tranier 2
we have the locations(CLUDO haha) as in girls barn, school in ky trainer place in fl
and home girl house and freind house

and the murder weapon is a fork or

a platter, a desk which has been hit by others on here, a kimblewick, spurs,
now is the next a wooden spoon-- for strring or a crop to hit her arse with ?

I sent them on to her, but she did already have a handful from the buyer. “Of course, all the pictures I have show her clearing the jumps” says buyer…

eponacowgirl HAS to stay friends - how else can we learn the end of this saga?! I think the buyer’s trainer was bluffing about either extend the lease or we put the horse on the trailer home NOW. She SHOULD have called their bluff. Oh yeah, there’s a lot of woulda coulda shouldas playing out already. If this girl doesn’t fire her trainer who is obviously in on this scam and find someone else to train with she’s even more of a fool than this little episode. It’s time to OUT these trainers’ names!!!

tell her to pull out-- now for goud sake
there is other cothers that would welcome a horse like him i sure
i know i would

Thing 1 and Thing 2. That’s about right! Except I don’t think we are at the part of the story yet where the Cat in the Hat starts cleaning up the mess.

It has become clear that EVERYONE in this tale (except epona) has their head up their a$$.

hahaha – good job i anit a dog- i would be licking my bal–ks haha

what about the part where the trainer 2 says “I’m sure they’re going to buy the horse…”

What? That has no tone of completeness but rather more of a tone that no decision has yet to be made…what what what?

They said they were buying and sent a check…I see that statement indicating this is far from a done deal.I would be pissed where someone said no obscess…excuse me…if the deal was done one month ago as promised I would not be obscessing. They are treating this horse owner as if she is ignorant…no wonder they are walking all over her.

I would demand they stop riding the horse until it has been purchased.

Did they even insure the horse and if so does the horse owner have a copy and is she listed as the beneficiary to the policy!

What are we going to do when the drama ends??? I amas addicted as everyone ELSE!! I just keep telling myself I WILL NOT COME BACK<, yeah right!! LOL!!

can we take up a fund to buy the horse out from under the “People”??? PLEASE???

Wish we knew the asking price on said horse…I’d be really tempted to buy the damn thing, have a cother pick it up and have it shipped.

See what the trainer and daddy say then.

i keep comming back to --its the 15th on thursday its the 10th today
i wish i had the moen so i would go and get the darn horse

I think someone dressed up as a sheriff with a horse trailer would do the trick, to “take possession” of the unpaid-for and uncontracted-for horse.

I am spending more time on this thread than I am on my database at work!!! I need “COTH-Anon” or something.

How is the trainer getting around the owner’s signature part on the entry forms for the horse shows?

Who want’s to bet that IF and that is a big IF they buy the horse their breakdown on what they will pay will be.

origional asking price of horse $xxxxxxx
minus
PPE
minus
cost of shipping horse to them
minus
cost of show entry fees
minus
board for month they have had them
and that will equal

ridiculously low sum or $0

COTH anon, THAT Is for QUITTERS!!! LOL!!

I’m begging you, PLEASE, someone anywhere near the vicinity of this animal PLEASE go buy him! Though the lack of drama will be sorely missed, it’s also painful. Aside from that, this horse needs to be with someone who won’t absolutely abuse him over the jumps (and who knows what else under saddle!)

You know Epona, I have a trainwreck friend myself. The more I read this, the more it sounds like my friend. It’s not the same person since my friend isn’t into horses (thank god), but the mindset is the same. I don’t know how long you’ve been friends, but every “crisis” is the same. Something marginal happens, she cries “Poor me,” and does nothing. Problem escalates, she sits and continues to wonder why she’s, once again, getting $hit upon. Situation resolves simply due to the passage of time, and she is once again the victim. I use to try and try and try to help her, and now I just talk to her for the entertainment value. Any other way will just cause me to rip out my hair. As an example, here is a true conversation with her shortly after I bought my horse:

Trainwreck: “I wish I could afford a horse, but we’re so poor (twirls professionally colored hair with professionally manicured fingers, then reaches in her pocket for her pack of cigarettes) In fact, my FIL had to pay our electric bill. We would have had enough money if the cable hadn’t increased to $145. I thought about canceling the movie channels, but we really do need them.”

It would be extremely funny if they could see the irony, but it’s so frustrating for the rest of us. Just remember, you can lead a horse to water, but even if you shove his head under water, you can’t make him drink.
