Gary Mundy Retiring 2021

Gary Mundy (leather worker and stirrup leather-maker extraordinaire) is retiring at the end of next year. This was posted on his Facebook page:

I plan to close Gary’s Leather Shop, LLC, on December 31st, 2021, completing 25 years in operation. I will turn age 75 on December 28, 2021, if all goes well, and plan to retire. The enjoyment and satisfaction from operating the shop have been the highlight of my working life. My only regret is that the shop has taken time away from riding my horses to some extent. I have been blessed with reasonably good health along with excellent hand and eye coordination. My shop has sometimes been untidy but the products leaving it have, for the most part, been durable, useful and attractive.
My customers over the years have included equestrians from all 50 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, and all the provinces of Canada. In addition, and to my amazement, I’ve shipped leather items to many other countries including Australia, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, South Africa, Chile, Israel and Hong Kong. Thanks to my hundreds of fans and followers on Facebook and Chronicle of the Horse for their support and kind reviews of my products. I’ve never solicited appraisals of my work so all feedback has been spontaneous and voluntary. My customers have provided invaluable information and assistance in the design and manufacture of many of my leather items and for that I’m truly grateful—THANKS!!!

Bummer, but I wish him a wonderful retirement.

I’ve gotten several pairs of leathers from him, all of excellent quality. I hope he enjoys his retirement.

He deserves a happy retirement.

We have just over a year to stock up!
