Gaudi

Anyone have any experience with Gaudi offspring? If so, I’d love to hear about it! I’m considering a 3 yr old gelding by Gaudi.

The gelding is gorgeous and 10+ mover, but his dam’s sire is well-known for throwing spicy horses and I need something very ridable and AA friendly.

I have a 5 yo Gaudi mare…her dam is by Voice.

She is the BEST mare I think I have ever owned. Now I will say that this is also a super nice mare line that she comes from with very good brains. She did have some spice when she was first being started under saddle…but once she understood what was expected she became very reliable and trainable. She was also in a program that exposed her to a lot…obstacle courses, trails, parades (yes, my baby warmblood did some local 4th of July and Christmas parades!).

My girl is very sweet and kind…though her mare moments will come out if she is unhappy. But she doesn’t cross the line. Even being the youngest in my barn at the moment, she is the one my 75 yo mom is the most comfortable leading in and out because she is that reliable. Again, she also had a lot of baby horse training to reinforce that…but so did my gelding and he’s still a dork about stuff (he’s not directly related).

Again, my experience is only one…I know she has a full sister and full brother…the sister is also pretty chill. Don’t know anything about the brother as he’s only a yearling.

I have a Gaudi and have spoken to several others that do as well. Mine has not been started yet, but those who have started theirs say they are incredibly easy to start and across the board are extremely sweet and friendly. I have heard nothing but positive things. Mine is intelligent, slightly sensitive but incredibly good natured and willing. I would have used Gaudi again last year as a sire had I not retired the mare from breeding. I was very happy with the results.

Same. Have heard nothing but good things temperament wise about Gaudi babies. I also almost never see them for sale for less than full price and I look at a lot of young horse ads so that tells you something!
