Gelding pony won't drop to pee. No beans

As title says, I have a gelding pony who won’t drop to pee. We’ve cleaned his sheath and pulled a pretty massive, crusty bean out. We thought that was it as he was starting to drop a bit. It’s been about a month now but he’s still not dropping to pee. He will pee, it will go everywhere, and then he’ll hang it out a bit for a bit. He almost always has urine crusted on his stomach and I’m worried with winter coming up that area will get gross really quickly, and turn into a wound.

Any ideas or recommendations? I’ll also take recommendations to avoid urine burning on his stomach during the colder months.

My gelding hardly drops at all, just the little tip. I swear he’s self conscious…

Maybe some lube to help him get it out easier? Maybe he just remembers that it was painful and it’s a learned thing now?

I had a gelding who never really dropped to urinate. I asked the vet about it and they told me it was not unusual and not something to be worried about. I had the vet clean and inspect him once per year while he was already sedated for his dental, so we knew everything was healthy down there.

He would drop to relax or masturbate, just not when he urinated.

My warmblood gelding rarely dropped to pee and I had him from a foal until we had to put him down at 1 month shy of 28. Never an issue but make sure you clean up in the sheath.
