Are we going to be able to get the thread suggestions/related threads functions added back ? I always ended up reading other threads suggested at the bottom of the page when searching for answers.

Since this thread is bumped, I will ask my ‘are we going to get’ question too. Are they going to fix the Today’s Topics so it is in chronological order?
It still looks that way but then you realize it is not when you look closer. Then you realize when you go to a forum that new posts have been happening on a thread but it has not shown on Today’s Topics anywhere near the first bunch of pages even though it is a newer time than the posts that show.
This was brought up as a problem when we started with this new format.

I know you’ve provided them before, but could you shoot me a couple of screen shots to illustrate the current status of the issue when you have a couple of minutes (admin1@chronicleforums.com)? I know this issue was on a task list, but I don’t think there has been any activity reported there.

When did the system allow you delete any post no matter where it was? Before if a post had been made after you posted something you could not delete the post.

Yesterday I was able to delete a post completely even though it was in the middle of a thread and I just deleted my post #197 on this thread

Always? I’ve always been able to delete posts no matter where they were in the thread, barring the first post in a thread. I’m not unique here…this is most obvious in a train wreck, where the op goes and deletes everything but the original post.

We even used to be able to delete the first post, and the whole thread, if there were no responses yet. But that ability went away two board iterations ago.

I have deleted posts (after realizing that it was not worth it to say anything else because no amount of logic was going to change the way the thread was going).

I am getting all kinds of ads popping up everywhere and it is slowing everything way down. Is anyone else having this problem? It started about a couple of weeks ago and is getting worse every day. Many are not horse related. I dont mind horse related ones so much BUT one was for a mattress. A human mattress not a stall mattress. I have not been searching online for a mattress so what’s up? Is it me? Can I fix it? Thanks!

But on my phone, ANY COTH page keeps having a ‘problem with this website so it was reloaded’ it is SO ANNOYING!! I do not have this problem with any other website, but it’s been going on for about a week with COTH. Seems fine on my computer, which I am using now.
It’s also very clunky on my phone (iphone 6). Every time I leave a thread, it flips to the board page, then back to the thread, then finally back to the board. Then it resizes after 15-20 seconds. It’s making it so I don’t really want to use the forums. It didn’t do this before the change and again, I’m not having this problem with other sites.

I know we’ve recently started hosting ads from Google. I’ve forwarded your feedback to the developers in case there’s anything we can do to adjust how/how frequently they’re presented.

jumpsnake, you might try first clearing the cache on your phone to see if that helps. I’ve also forwarded your message in case there’s another glaring issue I’m missing!

This has been a real problem for me also–the reloading.

I am on a really old iPad so it needs to be thrown out the window of a fast moving vehicle, but despite its lethargy, no other website reloades like this one!
I have cleared my cashe, my history and rebooted often–no no avail. I can hardly read three responses to a thread before I get the error. The magazine website does the same.
Its been like this for at least a week and getting worse.

It did not do it as I slowly (on purpose) typed this response.
I don’t really use my phone for this kind of thing, but I’ll try it to see if it works better.
I was just glad to see that I may not be alone!

ETA no it’s not doing it on my phone so I guess it’s my old iPad–time for a new one–ugh!$$

I Just wanted to let you know I tried clearing the cache but I’m Still having the. Reloading issues. Sorry for weird typing- currently terrible lag between typing and seeing it on the screen too!

My personal feeling, now that this edition has been around for some time, is that it is entirely too sluggish to respond. Now there are issues when posting photos (apparently random but definitely happening).

Does the new forum only allow white background and black letters? The last iteration of COTH had a lovely color combination, and this black and white page is not very friendly.

The new forum loads incredibly slowly. The last one was much better. Also, a new issues today is that the screen continuously scrolls down to the advertisement of a little boy and his dad talking about their minivan- dad drops the cake, gets a tattoo, etc. At this point I practically have the advertisement memorized.
