generic Surpass

I got it. It is generic Votaren. It is a gel. I paid $58 for the tube!

I can’t imagine it would blister??–it is a people medicine according to the pharmacist. He was very concerned because he couldn’t tell me the correct dosage for a horse. I guess there is a little plastic dosing card for people. He was sweet.

I think Costco has it too, so I’m going to price it out there when this tube is gone.

Horses can be sensitive to all kinds of things. I have one who has a reaction to the blue dye in chlorahexidine. There could be anything in the base that is normally no problem but a specific horse has a reaction to that substance. It happens.

Surpass blisters sensitive horses, so not surprising that the Voltaren gel can, too. I’ve known a few that can’t tolerate Surpass at all, and a few that you reeeealllllly don’t want to use it under wraps.

Note if you’re using people Voltaren–it’s an alcohol base and stings like a mofo on broken skin. Real Surpass is so much nicer for those! (For people AND ponies! I actually prefer Surpass for my own things, too )

Interesting. I will keep an eye on that. She definitely didn’t like the alcohol they put on her leg before they did the ultrasound. :frowning: We had to tranq. her because it bothered her so much (normally she stands still like a rock). I hope I didn’t pay $60 for something I can’t use.

It’s too bad we can’t get Surpass.

I can buy Voltarol off ebay in the UK. (currently about $8)
They have a 12 hour 2.32% diclofenac version too.
You have to get it shipped to a UK based friend who will forward it.
