George Morris on the SS list

Denali has declared that she considers “Are you high?” a “valid question”! That is some useful information there.

It is. I mean if some has some insight on how to comfort victims in order for them to be comfortable testifying I’m all about it. But I don’t think they do. Again my being a victim does not give me a right to tell other victims how they should act.

Yet you as a victim and victim’s advocate think you have the right to tell me, a victim, that my posts are garbage because I, a victim, don’t know what it’s like to be a victim.

I never said they were garbage. I am very confused about the 180 you have taken with regards to Safe Sport between this thread and the Rob Gage thread. I also will vehemently disagree with any attempt to bring Safe Sport into the realm of the courts via subpoenas or any other method.

Safe Sport provides options. Your 180 makes me think your reasons behind “strengthening” Safe Sport are disingenuous.

I have been consistently pro-SafeSport on both the RG and GM threads. You are dead wrong if you consider anything I have written as anti-SafeSport.

No BS, but your perceived support to bring it into the wheel house of the courts reeks of anti Safe Sport. Just because the idea of Safe Sport left all that out on purpose.

by perceived support I mean all the nonsense about subpoenas.

Im really unclear as to where we went sideways. I honestly don’t put much thought in my emotions towards posters. I react emotionally sometimes like anyone else but I have no ill feelings towards you.

For example the poster who alluded to me drinking, I shrug it off. Don’t care.

You were the one who zinged another poster with “Are you high?”

If YOU perceive that I am antiSafeSport because I agree with Horsegirl’s Mom that subpoenas are worth talking about, your perception is wrong. I seriously doubt other people perceive me as ant-SafeSport.

Again why take up the mantel for other posters? I owned that comment.

It doesn’t matter who you agree with. The very idea of opening up victims to jail time for Safe Sport procedures is just NOT okay with me when the accused may never get that.

Just looked at the SafeSport US Sanctions page to see what is out there… Some interesting data

Permanently ineligible, by Governing Body , By SafeSport

Figure Skating 19 , 13 , 6
Swimming (stopped counting at) 50, 42, 9
Equestrian 19, 0, 19

My counts could be a bit off as it was done quickly off the website - but some interesting data here

Hm. Looks like one of the NGBs is falling down on the job…

Sadly, that doesn’t surprise me in the least. :frowning:

There is also an equestrian person listed with “Loss of Privileges “ on SafeSpot who is not listed at all on the USEF SafeSport sanction web page. Perhaps bc USEF doesn’t have that category.

I went through a time of being illegible myself, when I was tired and writing in a hurry. Thankfully it wasn’t permanent. I learned to slow down.

Funny. I didn’t even see it until I went back and reread it.

Thanks correction made

Trust me, I’ve posted some whoppers, much worse than that. Just needing a little levity.

I agree. But is there a way or protocol to even report a Safesport type violation to USEF? And if so how long?

I am not trying to excuse this in any way but there has to be a mechanism to report.

Nothing will ever beat “numping with socks on”

This. While the legal system may not be perfect, the procedures are in place to find the truth and ensure fairness.
