Let me guess you are upset you didn’t report something and now just take such pride in these “victims” coming forward. Bless your heart I hope it all works out for you someday. Just think of all the people you could have helped if you if you would have come forward in a timely manner. Victims that keep their mouth shut have helped create more victims and are just as guilty for not putting a stop to it as soon as they had an opportunity to.

How nice for you that no one molested you and put your precocity to the test. I’m thrilled that you are not part of horse sport. Since you are not, why do you feel the need to spread your disgusting opinions, about children who are victims of predatory adults, on this forum?

I never said I wasn’t part of equestrian sports I am just not affiliated with USEF. I am choosing not to be a member of a group that has decided to go the way of judgments against anyone just because. To be able to list someone as banned without actual legal judgement proving they are deserving is ridiculous.

Hoping that maybe someday some iota of the truth about the lack of true justice in the farce they call “safe sport” will soak in. Being able to accuse anyone of something that happened 50 years ago just shows how absurd it is. Statute of limitations is how long the actual proof is such a thing happening survives. Which is basically the length of a shower barring any audio or video evidence. No one is safe if hearsay is acceptable proof.

ITT: People who don’t understand how private organizations work. The USEF is a corporation. They don’t need a legal judgement to deplatform someone if they so choose.

Why don’t you repeat the whole notion that the Safe Sport ban with respect to GM is because of hearsay and something from 50 years ago again?

Maybe if you repeat that a few more times, it will actually become true… and not just be a characterization of the complaints against him that came from GMs own PR team.

Additionally… why are you saying that “no one is safe if hearsay is acceptable proof.” After all - this whole Safe Sport legislation only applies to people who are USEF members. And you aren’t a USEF member.

So you have nothing to fear.

The only comment I have on this whole mess is this is exactly why I will never join an organization that adheres to the SS garbage. You have no true recourse and you can be tar and feathered on a whim and hearsay. No thanks not the kind of world I want to subject myself to. Carry on supporting a group that wants to do things in such a way even though there is no way there is any true evidence after 50 years. What a crock…

Rob Gage apparently had sent a letter to one of the underage girls where he admitted to the sexual contact. I am sure you would be surprised by all the possible ways there might be evidence of conduct, even conduct that happened 50 years ago at the young misguided age of 30. It might also turn out there is more contemporary evidence and/or conduct, because in cases like this there often is, and as there seems to have been with Rob Gage.

I can’t see any incentive for SafeSport to go after a powerful dude in an obscure sport if they don’t have a solid case. This won’t be an easy week at the office for them.

More to the point, it’s federal law, not a USEF whim, and it applies pretty much to any sport group that holds competitions in multiple states. The NGBs are first, but insurance companies are already working to make all their clients compliant.

Vanessa Brown on her fb is encouraging people to read the SS information. The comments are all anti SS.
An interesting comment by Jim Giorgio- He feels” a class action suit is right around the corner “. He suggests the “ need to raise $500k to unleash the sharks.” He states that if 25,000 USEF members each donate $20, or 50,000 members each donate $10, that in a SS minute the funds will be raised .”
Really? No words.

This is just what I want my sport to be known for - a grassroots effort to dismantle protection for child athletes from sexual predation, led by a sex offender.
