George Morris on the SS list

I never said anything about the victims being minors. I never saw anywher (in an article) that the victims were minors. I never defended the guy. Why are you putting words in my mouth?

The victims are minors. Please see the link to the banned list provided earlier in the thread.

And for those asking about Rob Gage’s victims, please see the 120 page thread entitled Rob Gage. Start there.

That’s why he was suspended! Holy moly educate yourself! The link is on the first page!

I am also curious to see how this plays out legally… GM is really the first very big target by SS. In the past, USEF has caved to big money and big names. It will be interesting to see what happens with SS.
Also, what happens with the amazing amount of awards, stadiums, etc named after him.
Does anyone know if his remaining clinics for the year are cancelled, or are they just making them unsanctioned?

I think you need to seek help. Stop picking on Farmpony84. She gave a very thoughtful post.

You already pinned GM as guilty so you just have solid evidence of what he did share it. If you don’t, then he’s innocent until proven guilty.

The story’s made the NYT: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/05/s…an-banned.html

For those who did not receive the Phelps release: https://www.phelpssports.com/statement-george-h-morris/

Edited to add that GM’s website also has the statements. The clinics are still active through the end of the year: https://www.ghmclinics.com

I couldn’t get that link to open but I did find one from the NY times. I had only seen allegations of misconduct. I wasn’t argueing that it was a minor and I wasn’t saying it was ok that it was a minor.

She literally didn’t know this was about sexual misconduct with minors.

He was born into a pretty wealthy family if I recall correctly.

Is that what we have come to, that no one can express a different opinion without being bullied? That truly is McCarthyism. I hope we can have a civilized and intelligent discussion of all the different information and viewpoints that are likely to come out as this situation unfolds.

Why not ask Rackonteur why he/she has drawn that conclusion? Then we can have a discussion about his/her concerns.

Denali, yours is a rather abrasive approach that borders on rabid. Farmpony’s new and admitted that she didn’t know much about the situation. She made a neutral yet sad statement. Rather than educate, you belittled and mocked. How is that productive?

Farmpony84, Denali doesn’t discuss, she attacks. Just see the other thread (Rob Gage). Don’t worry about it. Many of us just skip over her posts.

The allegations are sexual misconduct with a minor.

I gave her reading homework. Links were posted about why. Really? I’m to tolerate people who cannot or will not read? Skip my posts support the toxic life that is the industry. Make excuses. By all means carry on.

You are very passionate, but this particular exchange was quite harsh.

I’m not going to bother arguing with you but will comment that in your frothy victim defenses you have created… a victim.

Nah. Just don’t support people in their BS. Blunt yes. Sorry. I do not tolerate an unwillingness to not understand protecting minors. My bad. I suffer fools lightly.

A friend who rode with him told me George’s inheritance was around $1.6M. That is just hearsay, but if it’s true - running Hunterdon must have been expensive and $1.6 isn’t much compared to what many of his clients have. I guess he got big commissions on horse sales, etc. but I don’t think he’s a one percenter.

I expect people to ask questions if they are not well versed in a subject rather than expressing opinions.

Interesting. After Rob Gage I was wondering whether George Morris would be next.
