Go him for picking qualified riders rather than going for a big name just because it is a big name.

Me neither so I’m glad you posted this thread.

He is Alvaro de Miranda, the now “estranged” husband of Athina Onassis. His nickname is “Doda”
Thank you, guys! I read the other thread and had no idea. Thanks again for your quick responses!
Did Rodrigo end up traveling to Rio as the reserve? Or did he really decline the traveling reserve position as he said he would?
Noelle Floyd did an analysis showing the percentage of clear rounds this year from several Olympic horses. I’d be interested in seeing something like that with all of the Brazilian riders and where Rodrigo ranks.
Not sure what democracy has to do with picking a team? I thought even the us selection allows for one subjective pick? .but it is a shame RP had not horse up with a deeper string of horses… he does not seem to have the same depth of owners as in the past?
What does he mean when he keeps saying “you have to show current form?” Is he talking about equitation? Manners? ???

He means current results. The horse and rider need to be jumping well now (in good form) in order to make the team.
I see so far they have two clears and a four faulter…they do look in top form.

So I’m not the only one who was confused what GM was trying to say. I assumed he meant the horse/rider needed to show they were consistent and had good results, but when I was reading the article I was like what is he talking about equitation?
