Gwen, I don’t know if you can read this, but I just want to say how horrified I am by what is happening to you.

I am so sorry for your losses.

Yes, Really feeling sorry and sympathetic here also.
I think everyone is in agreement: there is a sick madman running around in those parts that needs to be stopped.
Why? is the key question. Followed by how? One has to be pretty determined!
It’s just too crazy.
Not ennough to worry about them hurting themselves on their own, I can’t immagine having to worry about someone purposefully wanting to hurt them.
There was a spat of horse shooting in our area a few years back but this seems so targeted.
So disturbing on many levels.

Long time COTHers, does this sound familiar? Not foals per se, but horses murdered in Germany?

I can’t find the information on what happened??

My condolences and prayers, whatever happened. ((HUGS))

Oak, please explain as in the dark.

But nobody deserves this happening. How horrific. I just can’t imagine.

Terri

You’re right Oakstable

That article is dated 2003 ???

Yes. Gwen has had 3 foals slaughtered in the past 5 days. Oakstable asked if it was familiar, so I did a search and she’s right.

:no:Oh my. I’m so sorry for the owners and horses involved. :frowning:

I remember when I was a young girl, in about 1974ish, there were several horses butchered in Redwood Valley, Ca. with a knife. I had nighmares about that and I’ve never been able to get it out of my mind.

So disturbing.

Someone is murdering Gwen’s horses at night. Last night was a cremello colt - staked though the body into the ground.

This is just horrifying. I’d be out there in wait with a rifle and there’d be a dead person in the morning.

Gwen, I am so sorry.

You wouldn’t be out there alone…

She’s bringing them all in at night now to keep them safe. Which I mean no one should have to do to keep your horses from being killed.

Terri

OMGod! They have photos of the colt on FB but I think they’re too disturbing to post.

I hope they still hang horse thieves in Gemany since this poor baby was certainly stolen from life.

This is horrible! I am so sorry!

This is beyond words!! My thoughts and prayers go out to Gwen.

Horrible beyond words. I remember the previous time in Germany. Sadly, this sort of thing is rarely taken seriously. I would bet that we have similar examples here in the states that we do not know about because they receive little press.

OMG that is just horrific beyond words…

So sorry Gwen. Hope you find the person responsible soon.

Makes me sick to my stomach. I do not even understand how someone could be so cruel.
I am so very sorry this happend to you, Gwen. I wish there was something I could do, besides praying that they catch this person.
