Getting a true polish on Ariat Bromonts

For those of you who show or hunt in Ariat Bromonts - I need help!

I have the field boots, maybe 3 years old, and I just cannot get the waterproof leather to truly take a shine.

My usual routine is Oakwood or Kiwi polish, buffed with a brush, a spit shine before shows, and a final go-over up with an Effax shine sponge, which makes my other boots look great, but does pretty much nothing on the Bromonts.

I was taught to polish by my dad, who learned in the army, so I promise I know how to polish a boot… but all my usual tricks are failing me. Has anyone defeated the dull Bromont leather!? Share your skills!

I don’t think you can polish up a naturally softer more matte leather.

You could try applying Kiwi Parade Gloss polish, then using a blow dryer on high to melt the polish onto the leather, then continue with your buffing. As Scribbler said, it might not be possible, but worth a shot. The heat helps the polish melt and fill in all the little natural dents and cracks in the leather to give a smooth surface.

Hmm, I will try this! I usually use my Oakwood polish then leave the boots in the sun for a bit, which is the lazier form of this… but maybe the Parade Gloss plus the blow dryer will do the trick!

You don’t want to use any saddle or leather balms or conditioners. Just the old fashioned black paste boot polish like Kiwi

You might try asking Trenton and Heath, a pair of brother cobblers with a Youtube channel. I’m not sure if you’ll get an answer, but they just did a video on correctly cleaning Thursday boots Rugged & Resilient boots.
