GhoDho breeches-anyone tried them?

I’ll admit, I often wear my breeches to work when I go in late.

I saw an ad for GhoDho breeches and they look a lot more like leggings/pants than breeches, so I’m thinking those might be a good alternative to TS’s.

I saw on their website that they run small, and to order 1 size up. But my neither of my tack shops carries the breeches. Has anyone tried these on/ridden in them? Do you need to go up 1 size? 2?

Thanks!

Sorry, no personal experience with these breeches. But considering the fact that I have seen nearly identical breech style jeggings (complete with pleather knee patches!) at Express recently, I think you could very easily transition from the barn to work to the club in these

I frequently wear my breeches to work (Horze active in black). These would be a great upgrade. Thanks for pointing them out!

They look amazing, I almost bought some but was worried about the zip closure on the ankle…

I like the navy breeches! They are pretty reasonable considering they are “designer” breeches!

Just spent about 20 mins on their website- these look awesome!

I too am wondering what size to order tho, as they say they’re meant to be tight…

I know Gia Rinaldi (big junior jumper rider) wears them and may possibly be sponsored by them - she’s about 14 years old and the size of a twig and when she wears a pair, they look spray-painted on. Not in a bad way, just more in a way that makes me think I’d probably have to go 2-3 sizes above my normal to not look like I had pants body painted on me

That was my feeling when looking at the models… Except they only go to 32, so I could only go up 1 size!

Glad I’m not the only one who wears breeches to work!!

I’ll order some and report back!

I do do Alter (my blck TSs)!!! Let us know–esp. about the sizing and zipper.

Please let us know how you like them! I am curious to hear about fit and sizing.

hum - unless this person is really short - they look too long to fit well under boots:

Hmm. They’re interesting. I’m surprised at their pricing - lower than most of the good brands of breeches. It’s kind of hard to tell if they’re flattering though.

I was thinking the same thing, they look super flattering on the models, not so much in the blog post. And I’m definitely closer to the blog post-size! But, I am quite tall, so the length won’t be an issue for me!!

Wow, those are unflattering. I think they look LESS like “street clothes” than traditional woven breeches.

Consider me a traditionalist but those are WAAYY too ugly

Love them! Would love to know how they are for actually riding, not just looking cute.

These breeches run true to the size stated on the website. If you wear a 26 Tailored Sportsman a 28 will fit perfectly. They are long. I typically wear a regular length and if I were any shorter the breeches would be too long. I would think they would be suitable for most regular to tall length riders, but I do not think they would fit riders with short legs. I like the quality and they are comfortable to ride in and wear all day. The decorative stitching and knee patches are very thick. Not in a bad way but it does give the breeches quite a different feel to typical breeches. The pockets are quite deep, which is an extremely welcome change from most breeches which have shallow pockets that my phone barely fits in. The back pockets however are fake. I would look at Gia Rinaldi’s instagram to get a better idea of what the colors look like as the pictures on the website do not represent the colors well.

For the price I love them. If they cost $200 or more I am not sure if I would purchase them. For a more expensive price tag I would just buy Tailoreds.

I hope this clears up most everyone’s questions. I’m not associated with the company in any way, just a fan of the breeches.

Bonus: if you enter promo code xmas2014 when shopping on their site you get 15% off holiday orders.

I think I may have to order a pair…$125 with 15% off isn’t bad for high end fashion breeches (since comparables sell for $200-$300). So I wear 28L normally (TS fit me perfectly but some other brands could be slimmer in the legs), I should order a 30?

I was given a pair as a test run and I can absolutely attest to the fact that they run quite long. I normally wear a 26L in TS and a 28 in Gho Dhos is snug and go right down to the bottom of my foot as there is no option for a regular or long length - they are just made very long. They’re quite comfortable but difficult to wear while riding due to the large zipper at the ankle and unless you’re 6’ you will be standing on it. I have emailed Gho Dho with my suggestions for a better fit but haven’t heard anything back, I hope it’s something she takes into consideration for later designs as they are beautiful breeches and I get compliments every time I wear them but they are just not practical for riding. I also had the issue that after 2 (very short) rides the decorative stitching at the thigh started to come apart.
The breeches are absolutely gorgeous (I have the Jennas) but they do much better with a nice blouse and a cute pair of flats than they do in the saddle. I hope in the future she develops a pair that are as funtional as they are beautiful.
