Gift for fox hunting rider??

I need some help! We’d like to get a nice gift for the President of our Board. She is into fox hunting. Does anyone have any unique ideas for a nice gift?

Thanks!

How much did you have in mind spending? Do you know if she is a “staff” member of her hunt? The first thing that came into my head was a nice whip – about $200 - $500.

It’s hard to have too many stock tie pins. If embellished are allowed, you could find a nice one that suits her personality.

Ditto stock ties. For a twist, you could get a fun one for cub hunting season or a really nice material (many of us lust after silk).

Wire cutters are useful. My ‘to get’ list also includes a high-quality set of tree branch pruners with a saddle case.

Thanks for the ideas! These are great. Now, where would we find a nice whip, stock tie pins and and stock ties? Is there a good online site you recommend?

Maybe ask on the “hunt apparel” thread? I’m not much of a shopper (and have gear for a couple different disciplines), so I make things like stock ties and get the rest as gifts. DH likes to buy me things, so it conveniently works out that I can keep a list of horse things I need and they eventually appear…

There are some things on eBay, but I don’t know about quality. Many of the tack shops in hunt country (such as Middleburg Tack, others mentioned on this forum) carry both new and used items. And google searches for things like stock pins turn up a variety of sellers (though, again, I’m not sure about quality).

foxhuntingshop.com and horsecountrylife.com plus ebay.
