Our very good friend is turning 15 this weekend. She does the big eq/jrs. - any birthday gift ideas? I don’t have any idea what 15 years olds are into these days!
Thanks

Isn’t it obvious? Horsie things! Jackets, vests, pj’s, subscriptions to magazines, jewelery, a piece of long dreamed for tack, or maybe just money. The possibilities are endless for a horse person!
My 16 year old loves getting manicures and pedicures. Her nails get really roughed up with all the riding and horsecare, so she loves going to the salon to make them pretty again. She also loved it when she was 15
DVD’s – I recommend Dressage for Jumping.
Books – Linda Allen’s Jumping Exercises or the Ann Kursinski bible.
i would get her a mani/pedi, but this kid is so NOT into that (too bad, b/c i would take her and treat myself too!!!)
I just don’t want to get her something she won’t like or use. Her mom owns the barn, she she has all the tack, jackets, boots, etc. that she could use
iTunes gift card?
If you want to go with something horse related then do a gift certificate for a tack store-either local or one of the good online ones like Farmhouse tack or Bevals. You could do a gift certificate from your local photographer or videographer so she could order from them at a show.
If not horse related then a Joule’s shirt or rubber boots. If she has an ipod then a gift card for music downloads. If she doesn’t have an ipod or iphone then an ipod shuffle.
where do you get an Ipod gift card thing? I am so not modern

Target or Walmart
My daughter is around that age and she doesn’t always like getting everything horsie. She definately likes getting things for herself. Clothing store gift cards always win. Forever 21, Charlotte Ruse etc., I only say those places because then she doesn’t look like every single other teenaged girl around!
when I was fifteen I was all about giftcards to anywhere. Maybe get her some movie tickets and a restaurant gift certificate? Or…if she into this whole Twilight craze take her to see the movie. It comes out tomorrow
I, personally, would -love- a gift certificate to a photographer, or even a large, framed picture of an amazing picture of me and my horse. I am sure that would be a great gift, and thoughtful too. Books, DVDs, personalized saddle pads are also amazing gifts  Another great gift is simply just cash. I’m 16 and would rather just have the money in my hand than on a card for something specific.
maybe i will just get her an Amex gift card. that way, she can get what she likes. Thanks for all of your help and input!!!
I happen to have a daughter who is 16 and at 15 one of the best things she would get as a present is one of those Visa giftcards that can be used anywhere. You can get the giftcards at the major grocery stores or from your local bank.
Either cash or a saddle pad. I personally would want a saddle pad-you can’t ever have enough. Or maybe polo wraps? Or a polo shirt…Darn, now I want this stuff. If her mom owns the barn I guess she has saddle pads and polo wraps covered? I would appreciate a nice pair of gloves.
A cute gift is a Starbucks gift card tucked inside one of their travel mugs then fill the whole thing with M&Ms.

Cold hard cash is always a great gift. It’s the ultimate gift card - it’s accepted everywhere and there’s no fees.
If she owns a horse, get her something she can use. There’s nothing more I liked than getting horse blankets, horse boots, or tack for presents. I’m 26 and still ask for horse supplies. A new pair of tailored sportsmans maybe.
Millennial suggestion. Im not 100% sure people still use I-Tunes Giftcards. I’m probably at the older side of millenial and I haven’t bought music in a really long time. I think most teenagers/young-adults use Spotify now.
But cash is probably more appreciated.
