Gilenya for MS

Hi! I went to my neurologist yesterday. He told me, since my present MS pharmaceutical therapy did not completely stop new lesions in the past decade, that ethically he had to put me on a more effective MS therapy.

So we settled on Gilenya. Are there any riders with MS that used Gilenya? How has it affected your riding? Has your balance improved?

I told my neurologist that I wanted to get back to cantering (been 4 yrs. or so), galloping (decades except for spooks) and JUMPING (30 years?) and to be able to ride more than 30 minutes at a time. Oh, to be able to jump again! Of course there are no promises, my neurologist did not seem to realize what I was asking about, but I am just curious if this drug could help my riding instead of harming it.

One of our friends has been taking Gilenya for several years. He has been very happy with it. He can ride, play volleyball, and do big projects in the yard; all were difficult when he was on one of the old, injectable, meds.

Thank you AKB! You have greatly encouraged me.
