Let’s not forget that Sara has been around Rolex three times. ;)[/QUOTE]
I think it’s actually 4 times, and a Burghley (although she retired on course there).
Ginny has completed Rolex 3 times (twice in the top 10, once only in the top 20). She’s also competed at the 2010 and 2014 WEG and the 2012 Olympics. She has also completed Badminton, Burghley, and Pau. Making Ginny the more experienced (although more tempestuous) partner.
I think this is a smart pairing as Ginny is always game for a 4* (almost typed 5*, pretty sure she’d eat it up if there was one). Sara seems to be able to keep the lid on the pot and is entirely capable of giving Ginny the rides she needs to not have the horse over-facing herself with all of her boldness.
I don’t think someone without 4* experience would be capable of riding a horse like Ginny, but Ginny is capable of opening up doors for Sara to give her experience internationally and allow her to ride the big 4* tracks that Sara has yet to conquer.
Either way… Congratulations Sara! This is a wonderful opportunity!
