I have the Rambo blanket repair kit and found the glue has dried up. Any suggestions for something that would be similar? I had some Seam Sealer 3 that’s been laying around for several years, and that doesn’t seem to be bonding well. I tried looking for tent repair glue at WalMart and they only had one kind that squeezes out onto plastic bristles and then is brushed on. I hope someone has experience with something that works!
I think you can buy the Rambo glue separately (without the patches).
I use Goo or Goop that I buy in Walmart or an auto parts store. It’s used for repairing vinyl seats, tents, etc. They have tubes you can buy that don’t have the brush attachment you’re describing. It’s not as soft and pliable as the Rambo glue, but you can buy a giant tube for $3.00.
I have not had to repair my Horsewear blanket, but for other brands I have used the iron on fusible web from the sewing store to create DIY patches.
Barge super bond fast dry is great for fabric and leather, etc. Waterproof and remains flexible. Pretty great stuff.
I was hoping for something less expensive. I did just Google and discover that they sell a 3-pack of 5 g tubes for about the same price as the big tube. At least I’ll get 3 repairs out of that. I’m going to look for the other suggested glues as well.
I have used Loctite glue for vinyl and fabrics on other things (athletic orthotics) and it worked ok and is cheap, so you could try that but I can’t say how it would work on a blanket.
There’s a product called Tear Mender. I have fixed more blankets than I can count. I usually find it in farm stores like TSC.
