Glue on shoe issue

My horse can’t keep sigafoo glue ons on! My excellent farrier has had great success with these on my other horse. He says the one throwing the glue ons has not enough hoof wall to hold them. Recommendations for another type/brand to try that don’t involve the hoof wall?

My farriers just used regular aluminum shoes with epoxy.

My horse is very happy in Polyflex shoes. He was in them for several years, then took a break for a few years, and I just put him back in Poly late this past winter. The only ways these can come off are improper application OR leaving them on for too long. He goes out in every type of weather: snowy, muddy, bone dry, wet, you name it, these shoes don’t budge.

My horse’s feet with a fresh set of Polyflex on:

They have corrective options (wedges, pads, etc.) and also a version with pre drilled stud holes if you use studs for anything. These make him SO much more comfortable. His chiropractor noticed a huge difference in his entire front end once we switched back to the Poly.

I almost never lost a easyshoe sport in 2 years of application. Only lost one and only because he stepped on the back of it landing off a jump. It involves the hoof wall but they really, really hold. I used equilox glue.
You have to make sure the glue and the shoe work together too, because certain types of glue will not bond with certain types of shoe.

Even with the cuff, your horse is losing them?
The first glue-on we used with my mare was Sigafoo. We had no issues. Then farrier switched to another glue on, Flexx brand. She lost a lot of those. At one point in between trims he grabbed an aluminum shoe and glued that on - it stayed.
Now she’s in the Polyflex and knock wood real hard, has only lost one, once.

Yes, even with the cuff he’s losing them! He’s on limited turnout after the dew dries. Also double bell booted.
