God Speed Betty Moran

She bought a fabulous property in Radnor Hunt country some years ago, that had one of the most beautiful barns I’ve ever seen. It was neat to run into her at horse shows, or restaurants. She and her family were always kind and fun.

Such a loss… another that will be greatly missed and can’t be replaced.

I met her and cared for many of her horses when I worked at Eaton. It is sad to see such strong supporters of the sport pass away. She developed an incredible band of mares, notably La Affirmed and her daughters.

Mrs. Moran’s farm is just up the street from my father’s house, and they had occasion to work together on the board of a local historic preservation society. I was privileged to attend several fundraising events at her farm over the years, and was lucky to get to meet and speak with her. She was lovely, gracious, a generous philanthropist, and a real steward of Chester County, PA horse country. She will be dearly missed in our area, and in racing circles as well.
