Going to be in VA June 12-16 Can I be a guest at anything?

Hi everyone. I am visiting family in Virginia (Bristow specifically) June 12-17…

I am eager to learning anything about hunting…I know its the “off season” but are there any trail rides or hound walks within 1.5 hr from Bristow I could participate in as a guest (I would have to borrow a horse- and I am willing to pay)?

I am a competent adult rider, compete in eventing, etc

You can find a fairly comprehensive calendar of the various events that the Virginia hunts are hosting (including trail rides) at:

I am not sure, but I think Hunter’s Rest may rent hunt horses or know someone who does - I believe that she is kind of tied into the whole scene. You might try to PM her.

Bull Run is doing a hunt trail ride at the preserve on June 12 at 9am. That is about 9 miles SE of Culpeper on Rt 15.

Left you a message

I need to change our ride from 5 pm to 3 if possible. Call me or email me at home - betsyp@crosslink.net

Colonial foxhounds is hosting an introduction to foxhunting clinic Saturday June 13th. It is designed to educate and teach the fundamentals of foxhunting. Divided into two groups: hunting hopefuls, and hilltoppers. Colonial staff will be there to give a presentation and answer questions. The hounds are kept on site, and I believe they will be used during a demonstration. http://www.colonialfoxhounds.net/
