Golden Malrin fly bait

I just got some of this to use in the pasture with my horses. I already have a fly bait station with the attractant and water. I was going to put this in the reusable fly bait bottles.

There are also chickens in the pasture. (They do a great job spreading out the manure and eating the bigs.) I’m setting it up so neither the horses nor chickens can get to it.

Is anyone using this? Would the dead flies be an issue to the chickens if they eat them? It says to put it out every few days. Do you think you can just put it in the container and then let it fill ip wth dead flies?

It’s been awhile since I used this.

Um…

That product is an organophosphate neurotoxin. Very deadly to all mammals. It should be used with extreme caution.

We lost a dog and a cat to it. The dog ate some of the dead flies, the cat got some on his foot then licked the foot. Both died seizing in the car on the way to the vet. Will never have that product on my property again.

Follow the directions to the letter, or better yet return it.

I have used Quikbayt instead with no issues, I am terrified of golden malrin

I have treated dogs for acute toxicity from this stuff.
I hate it.

Nasty stuff. I’ve heard that some farmers with draft horses put it in cola and leave it out for raccoons. One farmer lost several horses due to the raccoons contaminating the feed, thus the poison. I’d never have the stuff on the farm. It’s deadly.

Just Don’t for Every Reason previously posted!!
