Goldmaker at the Silver Creek RPSI Inspection

I’m very proud of “my” boy and how he did at the RPSI Inspection at Silver Creek on Monday! He is provisionally licensed with full approval based on his completion of the 70 Stallion Test. I don’t know his exact scores - Kathy said 7’s across the board with an 8 for jumping. He looks so happy in the photos, it makes me smile! I’m just so thrilled that he has a job and is getting the opportunities I couldn’t give him…

edited to add: He’s not mine anymore, but I still love him and want the bestest for him…

Huge congratulations to all and best of luck with him in the future!

He looks fabulous, lovely horse, excellent jump! Congrats on the RPSI approval!

Ok… tell me more… who is this nice boy?

The stallion’s name is Goldmaker and he is now owned by Kathy St. Martin and Jos Mottershead. Lovely boy. I’m admittedly watching very intently to see what his scoring will be at the 70-day test.

He’s a cremello TB stallion that lost his JC rights due to being conceived via AI. He’s bounced around a bit, but finally managed to land somewhere fantastic…

So is he a hunter or a jumper?

Any dressage talent or too flat?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. We’re pretty darn pleased. Goldmaker came to us in January and we agreed we would try and get his career somewhat back on track. It’s been a bit of a rocky road as it was while Jos and I were working on legging him up and another horse, that I broke my back <rolling eyes>. Jos was riding Goldmaker and said the horse FLEW on his ride back to the farm to get the truck. Guess that’s one HUGE advantage of riding a Thoroughbred, eh? <LOL>. Can we say sideline training and conditioning him for a bit??? But, for the last 6 weeks, even in this abominable heat, Jos has been getting up every morning bright an early to ride him. We are really, really pleased with how well he has progressed.

He definitely has talent over fences and LOVES doing the cross country stuff - no surprise there, eh? <smile>. He has a lovely canter and did receive 7’s on all of his gaits. He hasn’t had any dressage schooling at all, really, and I don’t look at him and think dressage. I “do” think he’d do well in the hunter ring and so far, he’s certainly showing some very good jumping talent. Time will tell ;).

Here’s a couple photos from the inspection :)!

Congratulations! He looks fabulous. Sounds like Jos is having fun.

Way to go Team Avalon!! Glad to hear GM is finally getting a chance to shine.

BTW, I bred a dressage-bred mare to GM years ago and got a lovely colt who scored a high Silver Premium at RPSI inspection (half brand only, since at the time GM had not been approved). The colt was subsequently sold as a weanling to an adult ammie who did all the training herself. She still has him and reports he has remained a wonderful partner and solid-minded fellow through-out their years together.

Can’t wait till Spring – my Weltmeyer/Batido mare is currently in foal to this lovely boy, so I’ve got my fingers crossed for a successful outcome to his stallion testing.

BIG congrats to both of you Kathy, Jos and Goldmaker!!

Are there inspection results listed anywhere for this site? I know a few folks
who went.

That would be an understatement <lol>. He loves a TB ride!

I don’t know if Barbara has the results or not. There was a foal there by Bellisimo that was lovely and got a Gold premium, I believe, as did an Apiro foal that was really, really beautiful. There was also a foal by Wake Up that received a Silver Premium and I believe a Rubignon that also received a Silver Premium. An Appaloosa mare was presented for the Knabstrupper book and she was accepted into Book II for that. And there was a yearling that was presented but, of course, wasn’t scored. Those were all I remember, but perhaps Barbara can post.

So what is his breeding…
