I’ve come to the conclusion among other things that I need to pull my horse’s shoes and get her feet sorted out. I’m looking for a good barefoot trimmer in SE PA Southern Chester County. No wackos, just someone who will trim her feet in a way to get a good foot on her.
Why can’t your current blacksmith trim her? You don’t need a “barefoot trimmer” just because your horse won’t have shoes. If your current blacksmith can’t do an appropriate trim for whatever situation, you need a new blacksmith. A blacksmith that does not know how to do a trim shouldn’t be slapping shoes on.
Daisy Bicking of Daisy Haven Farm. She is excellent! And if she can’t work you in, she will know someone who can!
Laura Florence. Good farrier, much lower on the crazy spectrum than many others around. Formerly on staff at New Bolton Center before switching to more of a barefoot approach.

Given how happy I am with how my mare’s feet have evolved with a trimmer who is a Certified Natural Hoof Care Practitioner, and instructor with the Association for the Advancement of Natural Horse Care Practices, I’d suggest looking at this site for contacts in PA:
Thanks. Laura Florence is close so I will contact her.
