Just starting using on a young cat,neuter male, that we bottle raised. so far it appears to be doing the job. It’s taken the edge off. He’s still as playful as ever but we have noticed some behavior changes.

Where did you buy it and what behaviors has it helped?

I have a spayed female kitty that ‘eliminates inappropriately’

She is on the max dose of Buspirone HCl (improved behavior but not stopped).

I used these on my daughter’s cats when we moved them to my home. It really seemed to help. Especially with her male cat who tends to get aggressive towards my dogs (they are terrified of him).

ALSO… noticed our other two cats that don’t have collars on, a little more friendly to the youngster.

About 3 days into our young male cat wearing the color, his overall behavior has changed, much for the better.

It’s not a drug, smells like lavender, just calming pheromones.

After reading about it on COTH, I ran and bought one. My 6 month old cat suddenly began having issues with the litter box - he started urinating in trash cans. When I would see him in the litter box, he would exit like something was going to eat him. We changed the litter box and moved it, and he was beginning to use it again (sparingly, like he was holding out as long as he could). When he did go, he wouldn’t cover anything up.

Put the collar on him Monday evening and within 24 hours he started using the littler box more and withing 36 hours he started covering up his business. He seems more relaxed, too.

I give the collar 2 thumbs up! It smells good, too

The bottle raised kitten and now young male male neutered cat, had recently started marking spots. He was also slightly aggressive in his play. We looked up marking. One of the suggestions was pheromone sprays etc. All were localized to specific areas. While looking at all the calming “stuff” I noticed the collar. Made more sense that the cat will be wearing the calming pheromones wherever he goes.

YES, it works and it does smell good.

Not sure how long I’ll have to keep putting collar on. Whether it will condition his behavior. But for now a very inexpensive solution with no ill effects to our cat. He may be a pretty smelling boy cat for some time.

LOL I am glad to hear that this collar works for kitties…it didn’t do squat for my 70 lb. Simple Dog :rolleyes:

what a great idea! think i’ll go get one for my humpy siamese. though he’s so much more relaxed than he was, he is still a bit humpy–as in he loves my slippers a little too much!

7HL…my kitty is a bottle fed, young, neutered, extremely playful (and sometimes aggressive) cat, too. He’s still playful, but takes it better and doesn’t try to eat your arm off since the collar.

On another note, he usually screams the entire length of a car ride and today he didn’t make one sound. He’s spending the weekend at the kitty spa, so it will be interesting how he behaves when he gets home.

We’re on our second collar… They work!!!

The plan is now to run about 6 months with collar and see if we can get some behavior modification going. And if the collar comes off and we have devil kitty again. I’ll be buying them by the case.

Not sure about our results yet…Been on since Saturday, Buster has been very lazy and sleepy since, however we think he peed on the dog bed (again) while we were on our walk yesterday:( grr. Said dog bed is in the garbage and I am still trying to clean the rug from my son’s room that prompted me to buy it when I saw it in the store!

Cats are complicated creatures. There is not always a one fix answer. You said again, so there may have been some left over smell.

Mis-read the instructions on the collar and while “stretching to activate” I broke it. So I just laid it down near the food bowl so they could get a good smell at least some of the time.

The two difficult boys are both lying around on the deck snoozing like they are patrons at an opium den. I was starting to think they were sick or something, but then realized they’ve been getting a snootful of the lavender pheromones frequently. Apparent it really works.

I’ll keep watching to be sure it really isn’t an illness situation. Had a similar reaction in our kitten we just lost when I got her a catnip toy - she played and slobbered on it and then could barely keep her eyes open.

Yeah, that is why I tossed that dog bed this time.
My sons rug has been doused with stuff and sitting out over our fence to dry and hopefully have the sun help.
Next I think I am going to try a vinegar/water mix on it. I don’t want it back in the house until I know it is clean/free of that smell - it was not a cheap or easy to find rug!
