Parfois vous avez a juste lacher prise et mouche

There is Texas A&M University’s large animal clinic. They are legendary!

Just west of Houston, there is Katy Equine Clinic. Top class facility, but prices to match!

I use Dumas Equine Clinic in NW Houston area in Waller, TX. Wonderful service. Very competent staff capable of handling ANY kind of problem.

Wonderful facilities, great vets (I know, I work there…)

East County Large Animal Practice
El Cajon, CA
Dr. Chandler and Dr Smith are the best.
I communicate via email for minor diagnosis as they are 2 1/2 hrs away. But well worth the trip.

San Luis Rey Equine Hospital
Dr Barry Grant and staff
Bonsall, CA
Excellent equine facility. Took Bud there for work up on “Wobblers”. Very informative. State of the art clinic on beautiful grounds.

Arizona Equine
Chandler Arizona
Very good clinic facility.
Took my gelding with the bad heart there about 5 yrs ago. Dr Foss treated him. Very good at putting things in lay-terms. Did EKG and ultrasound of heart. Not good outcome. Bad tricuspid valve. But so professional in dealing with situation.

Del Oeste Veterinary Clinic
Dr. Rich Mosier
Eugene, Oregon
Have not been to these folks in years, but they were wonderful when I lived in Eugene. Could have held me hostage over a condition with my ol’ Clownin’ guy, but were very fair $$$$.

So Louise, I am not sure I like to be reminded that I know this many vets that well. You know what I mean?

“The older I get, the better I used to be.”

I’m stealing this idea from another forum. They did a list of all the medical facilities, all over the country, that their members have found to give excellent treatment and care. That way, if their members ever found their horses in need of care, either in their own vicinity, or even if they were travelling, they would have this list available.

I’ll start:

Ledgewood Equine Medical Center
Ontario, NY

Granted, I have boarded at the stable associated with this facility for years, but I was reminded again, with the Promise thing, just how well these people care for the animals that come in for treatment. There is a board-certified vet, and a board-certified surgeon available. The vet techs are knowledgeable, and competent. I never have run into anyone who was not willing to stop and talk to me about my horse’s condition.

Anybody else got any medical facilities that they would recommend?

In Minnesota, besides the University of Minnesota, the equine clinic we use is:
Stillwater Veterinary Clinic
Highway 36
Stillwater, MN
651-770-6166 or 67
They are open regular business hours, and have a 24 hour emergency service. There are 5 equine vets, so someone is available at all times.
