I posted this in Off Course but decided to post it here as well.
I am posting this for a friend of mine who lives in Atlanta. A guy in her office has always wanted to learn how to ride a horse. All he knows about horses is that they are big and scary but beautiful. And from watching TV westerns, which he loves. So he wants to ride like Clint Eastwood and Marshal Dillon.
This is a big guy, a young-middle-aged man who wants to do it right if he is going to ride at all.
We would suggest a good dressage/h-j barn, but he wants to ride western, so that’s what I’m asking for here.
He is willing to drive, and he and his wife want to go to Myrtle Beach this summer, so probably anything from west Georgia to Myrtle Beach might do, at least he could take one lesson and see if he wants to pursue this.
We found the Atlanta Black Rodeo Association but no lesson barn sites so far. And we’d rather get a recommendation from someone who knows of a good barn than just randomly send out e-mails. And I’m not into rodeo myself …
