Good show name?

i have a 17.1hh chestnut gelding named cadillac (we mainly do hunters). i got some ideas like rides like a cadillac, cruise control, or zippin’ around town (i feel like that’s more geared toward jumpers), any other opinions/ideas?

Why not try on some of the model names?
Escalade
Eldorado
Optiq
Lyriq
Seville
etc
Anything with Zippin’ sounds like a quarter horse.

I like the way @Trekkie is thinking! To add to their list, here are some vintage models:

Calais
Fleetwood
Deville

I think Cadillac is great on its own, the brand name speaks for itself.

But I also think Cruise Control would be a fun name.

My TWH came to me named Harley.
His showname is He’s My Harley.
You could do that with Cadillac

I used to show Hunter’s with a gal who showed her horse as My Affair.

One word names are still the go-to for the hunters, but Cruise Control is very cute (especially if he’s big and slow!).

I agree that the Zippin stuff sounds like a QH (love a good QH, but it may not be what you’re going for), Rides Like A Cadillac is too long and not hunter classy, and IMO the longer names and cutesy phrases just sound like they let the kids name the lesson horses.

Short, classy, easy to pronounce, and make sure it doesn’t sound naughty over the loudspeaker

How about “Cadillac Dreams,” like the song?

What breed? What’s his registered name? I like to honor the name the breeder chose, or the line he stems from.

Some other ideas:

Convertible
Cabriolet
Chevalier
Coupe de Ville

he’s a hanoverian and his registered name is just cadillac. i’m leaning toward cruise control but i also like the idea of using a cadillac model. thank you for all the amazing ideas!!

We had a pink Cadillac Coupe de Ville when I was a kid. So I’m partial to that one.

If you are a fan of the group, and in keeping with Cadillac - Fleetwood Mac.

My favorite horse name of all time in my Pony Club days was “Daddy’s Money,”

The great TB Easy Goer had a full brother named Cadillacing. IIRC, that’s what Mr. Phipps’ chauffeur used to say when they were going for a pleasant drive. That family really came up with fantastic names based on pedigree!

I would worry that the show announcers would mispronounce it, though.

I grew up in POA, not Pony Club, so in the more ‘western’ naming convention, I knew a show pony named Trulyspendindaddysmoney

There was a junior hunter with the name Bankrupt Daddy when I was a kid in the 1960s.

Oof, “So-and-So riding Bankrupt Daddy” yeah this is why you practice announcing the names so you don’t accidentally pick something embarrassing. Also run it past the teens in the barn, lingo and euphemisms change all the time!

Lots of Cruise Control horses out there…

I think I’d do something that’s a throwback to the big ol’ Caddies of the yesteryear. Maybe like Seville, Fleetwood, or Eldorado… or something cute like “Plush Velvet Seats” or “Family Sedan”… or you could also do something like “Sunday Drive” or “Touring Sedan”
