Anyone have any suggestions, other than eBay, for good websites that list used western saddles for sale? I know there’s a lot for English, but it’s harder to find western… I’m looking for a used Rocking R reining saddle, which apparently is one of those saddles that must be pried out of the previous owner’s cold dead hands… they never seem to pop up on eBay, in my size, at least.

They are great to work with and allow trials for fit, which is the problem with most ebay buys. You can even call and tell them what you’re looking for and they’ll keep an eye out for it.

National Roper Supply in Texas. They take trade ins on new saddles so they usually have used in the store.
Brighton saddlery is great (a great store to visit too!) and saddle shop!
I still like to buy local (admittedly a LOT easier in Montana than New York) because I can so easily check the fit without shipping). If it were me, i’d probably call some of the craigs list horse for sale ads and see if they were selling any tack (I got my beloved western saddle that way).
