Does anyone know anything about the music that Juan rode to? It is so beautiful. I imagine that it is something that he had created for WEG but I would really like to know what it is called.
actually, he has used this music for his freestyles for at least 3 years
i say somewhere the artists but can remember. if you do a google search you will probably find it.
lol tried that already and got pages and pages of weg blogs and forum posts and commentaries, but nothing evident about the composer of the music
Yes, just before they went in, Juan just let go the reins, and did some adjustments of his coat I think , Fuego scratched and gazed a bit, Juan gathers him up, waves for the music and there they go, like it’s a ride in the park.
I’ve tried on another board to explain that the horse spooked because of the enormous noise and movement of the crowd leaping to its feet at the final halt, but I’m not getting anywhere. The belief is that the horse spooked because the rider threw his hat in the air. I’m betting this horse has seen more than a little hat tossing in his day! Ah well, hope they see this video and can HEAR what went on and the pure excitement that the crowd felt watching this test.
I had to reflect on the classes the day before where you could have heard a PIN drop, and frowns of concentration were the general order of the day amongst the audience.

I don’t know what it is called, but “The music was composed by Michael Erdmann especially for the test.” I emailed Sophie at Spanish Horse Specialists. He has a website, but it’s all in german.

The horse spooks before when the rider raises his hand, watch carefully from the start, seems an overreactive horse.
That second time he is a little spooky of the rider’s hand’s movements, not only from other noises, as you may see if you watch carefully, although other may also have contributed.
I thought the rider should have been a little more circumspect, knowing his horse tends to do that anyway.
Wonder what he would think if he had indeed fallen off, as he almost did.
Thanks for posting the video. I guess you can’t truly capture the incredible energy in that place that night. I feel so honored to have been there, and have come home with new inspiration in my riding. This ride had so much heart and love. Watching it again brings tears to my eyes (again). I will never forget the electricity in the grandstands and the pure joy felt all around.
Not even Totilas got a standing ovation.
You had to be there to understand why Fuego spooked. The crowd, which had been cheering and practically bursting during the test just exploded at the final halt, and the horse bolted. The video doesn’t capture the crowd noise and the stomping and the sound of 25,000 people spring to their feet.

I would like to think he would have sprung up, collected his horse, dusted himself off and taken a very Spanish bow to the crowd with a big smile and an elegant shrug of his shoulders.
Besides…at least that way we would have gotten a good look at his…
Never mind. PG board.

i watched the ride on FEI TV and it was pretty dang clear what teh crowd thought. it was electric.
i am not sure why the crowd does not come thru on the various vids posted to youtube…
i still think it is worth teh price to watch the vid on FEITV so you can hear what is really happening.
i am just so happy that i was able to see this and cant imagine what it was like to be there!
i cried and laughed and had chills sitting in my livingroom!
