Good website for finding draft x horses for sale?

I’m looking for a new horse and really want another draft cross, preferably a Clyde cross similar to the one I currently own. Would appreciate suggestions for good websites to search. I’m in Texas and we don’t seem to have a lot of draft crosses in this area. Also, I’m short and want to find one 16.1 or below if possible. My Clyde/TB cross mare is a roundish 15.3 and she’s just the perfect size for me.

You might check the Irish Draught website. I think there are a number of ID breeders in Texas.

Thanks Linquest! I did get in touch with Angola Prison as you suggested. They don’t have plans for another sale until 2014. I’m hoping to find a horse before then. I’ve had several folks say they do breed some nice horses!

Try Dream Equine Therapy Center in Texas. I’ve seen some draft crosses listed there in the past for adoption/sale-always worth a shot to see if they have something. They had several young stock available recently from a PMU rescue.

For what it’s worth, there was a woman right outside of Houston who had some lovely, not too big, Shire crosses. I think she had advertised her horses on Dream horse or equine.com. I looked at them for a friend and thought they were quite nice.

She is an equine vet in Gatesville…very good horse person, one of the most honest horse people I know…and stands her own stallions and has a herd set up for all her horses…great for minds and legs. she absolutely will not oversell you, and she is reasonable on her prices. How nice. She has several draftX’s…all ages…and has many happy clients. Her name is Shana Thoms.

If you are in Tx. check with Cloudline Fox Hunt in Celeste, Tx. They have a lot of nice draft cross foxhunters for sale.
