Goodbye, sweet Dublin (update p. 25, Dublin has crossed the bridge; update for details on funeral on page 32.)

sobbing

thank you for that incredibly touching update…

please know you, Dee Dee and your families are in our thoughts and prayers

God bless

This is so sad, my sympathies to all of her family. I have been thinking of Dublin all weekend on and off. We are so fortunate to have made these connections thru the board and it amazes me that this goodbye to a beloved BB member, one I’ve never met, spoken to, seen or even personally corresponded with, can make me feel such loss. You will be missed Dublin.

I’ve tried to respond to this thread many time but I’ve never found the right words. All I can say is, Dublin, you will be missed.

I haven’t contributed to this thread yet, and I didn’t know Dublin personally, but I have a huge amount of respect and admiration for her from reading her posts. She is an amazing woman with so much insight and love to offer to those around her. She is also such a fighter. It warms my heart to think of her and CactusKate together in Heaven, watching down over all of us and playing with our friends that have gone over the Rainbow Bridge.

You are in my thoughts and prayers DeeDee.

Thank you Weatherford, I could not bring myself to put this on the BB, although it needed to be posted.
Thank you.

I’m in too.

Coreene (or anyone) do you know what horse rescue dublin was particularly fond of? I know United Pegasus does a lot of good work out west…was that it?

I haven’t posted on here yet, becuase I never quite know what to say in these situations. I didn’t know Dublin aside from her BB identity, but always cherished her posts. I have always loved TB’s, and feel like I miss them in the hunter ring as much as she did. I’m not sure if it’s my love for those delicate feet, the perfect faces, or the idea that they are sort of Poenixes how they are brought from the hard working world of racing to show off how pretty they are in hunters.

Dublin was one of those posters you knew you could actually trust, too, which was really valuable to me. I don’t know if it was simply her wealth of knowledge, or the feeling that even if I posted something really wrong, she was always polite, always considerate, and her kindness sort of showed through her posts. I know you all agree that Dublin will be sorely missed in our COTH community, but will not be absent from our thoughts.

Please list where we can send contributions to for both the article and the charity. I can send a donation in Dublin’s name to the charity if no one here wants to be responsible for checks. Also, one idea is that we could list our chosen charity on the article. I, too, feel that a donation to a worthy equine cause would be very fitting for Dublin’s memory.

Enjoy your new home in peace, Dublin!!

Some news, no matter how much one might expect it, is still a mind-numbing shock when received.

Dearest DeeDee, may you find comfort in the arms of your family. May your spirit be buoyed by all those whose lives you touched, whether in person or through your keyboard. And may your way, when it comes, be eased by the flow of love being sent to you and lit by the welcome of your horses and other loved ones waiting for you.

We will miss you. Godspeed, my friend.

My prayers, thoughts, and tears go out to Dublin and Mr. Dublin. I’m so sorry to read this thread that I had overlooked. I know your pain as I have lost so many dear to me this way. God Bless you. Dublin…go towards the light…

"Star Light
Star Bright
First star I see tonight
Wish I may
Wish I might
Have this wish I wish tonight

I wish for a starry heaven,
filled with horses,
galloping by,
with CactusKate and Dublin
racing on to the Milky Way.

The stars all smile
as they pass,
and the laughter
that the two share,
creates a shooting star."

That’s the best I could write tonight…

Dublin, You are a fighter and I have no doubt whatsoever that you will make it through this with flying colors. I look forward to emailing with you about riding, showing and labs in the months to come! Hang on honey, you’re gonna be OK.

How very sad this all is…

Mr. Dublin: just be comforted by knowing that her memory will live on forever in the hearts of so many.

God speed, Dublin.

I haven’t posted on this topic, but have followed it closely and have been saddened and moved by all the posts made my fellow BBer’s. We truly are a family here. God speed Dublin. My thoughts, prayers and love are with her family during this time.

How incredibly saddened I am to learn that Dublin has passed. But my wasn’t she a busy girl right from her arrival? Aiden’s CMV is GONE and LordHelpus was Champion.

She is obviously going to live eternity with the same spark and style she lived her life with! Kick on Dublin, Kick ON!

David, please don’t be a stranger. We’re here for you too, always.
