That is amazing! What a great story.

There’s a reason you see a lot of Hackney ponies pulling Amish buggies in Indiana. They live forever and they will go forever. Bonus is they don’t eat much.

the number of strides that pony must have made would I guess be three times that of a large horse to cover that mileage.

I suspect that pony was not phased much by that 100 miles because if it could do that distance it really was in excellent condition

She rode with her mother, who was riding the tallest horse, a lovely saddlebred. 47% finished. Three times as many ups and downs while posting!

That really is something. Looking at the FB picture she is pretty tall to ride that little guy. Her feet go way down !
