Has anyone ridden the trails at Governor Dick Park, near Mt.Gretna, PA? A friend and i are planning to ride there this weekend, but I’ve never been there and don’t know about parking, etc.
I’ve riden Governor Dick quite a bit this year. You can park in the State Gamelands parking lot directly across from the environmental center parking lot on Pinch Rd. There are maps available of the trails at the environmental center. It is fairly rocky, although my horse who is barefoot handles the rocks okay. The only negative thing I can say it there is no water on the trail.

My OTTB is barefoot but I do boot him if we’re riding somewhere rocky (i.e., Gettysburg), so thanks for the tip!
I rarely get out to trail-ride as I am trailerless, but my friend has use of a trailer for the weekend so we’re making the most of it. Governor Dick is only about half an hour from us, so I’m excited…
How close do you come to the town (villiage?) of Mt. Gretna? I’m wondering if we’re close enough that we might be able to stop for a soda or something…
