Help!!! Do the GPA First Lady 4S helmets fit like the Speed Air? Same size in both and do they stretch? I haven’t bought a new helmet since 11/2009 and can’t tell if it fit the same as my current one since it’s almost 8 years old
Yes they fit the same and yes they will stretch. The best way to know what size helmet you need is to measure your head because when you first try on the helmet it will, and should, feel almost too small because it is going to stretch.
Okay, thanks! I’ve always worn a 61 cm or 7 1/2 in everything…I’ve been measured multiple times because people don’t believe that my head is that big!!! My old original GPA titaniums were 61, speed air is 61 and this new First Lady 4s is 61. I have a nice red mark on my forehead so far walking around at the barn…trying to decide if it fits before I take the tags off! I have a friend who works at Dover that claims they switched the shape, but not sure if that’s true or not! She’s also not a fan of this helmet and would prefer I go towards a samshield or CO. So I think I’ve already figured out that one if you know what I mean LOL!
I actually just replaced my samshield with a first lady 4S and was quickly reminded how much breaking in a helmet sucks! But I do really like the helmet and it actually feels more secure than my samshield. That one always felt like it was sitting more on top of my head and the GPA feels real snug around it. It will take about a month to break in but then you’ll be good!
I had one of the original Titiums and then last year bought the newer version. They were both 7 1/4 but the new one left a red mark on my forehead for a few weeks until it stretched out. I was a little pissed that it didn’t fit like my old one, but now it fits just the same.
Thanks everyone! I feel a lot better with the input!
Hello, I know this is an older topic, however I have a GPA question as well, and don’t want to bog things down with a brand new thread!
My GPA First Lady rattles! Somewhere within the vents on top, something inside is rattling, and I don’t know if that is a normal thing for the brand or vents, as this is my first GPA - previously had CO and IRH.
I had the hope that maybe it would go away over time, but it hasn’t…
Does anyone know if GPA stands behind that, if it is a defect of some sort? I’ve never fallen or dropped it, and it has done this straight out of the box when things get bumpy (jogging on foot especially!). I bought it via SmartPak, but it is past the 60 days return policy
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hmm I would have returned it right away it definitely shouldn’t rattle! I’d still contact smartpak as they can get in touch with GPA. And because its a defect even though its past the return policy they will probably still take it back.
Call SmartPakEquine! They will take care of you and get with GPA. The helmet I started this thread about completely came apart. No falls. Bought from another vendor and I purchased the GPA speed air and literally fell off the first 24 hours I had it. They took care of me and so did GPA. In he future though, I’d double check and just send it back asap if there was an issue! It will be less headache in the long run! Good luck and let us know what happens!
Thanks y’all! I’ve called Smartpak and they said that they will contact GPA and get back to me to let me know if there’s anything they can do. Fingers crossed!
