GPS tracking gone wild

I have been tracking the hunts on my Blackberry, now the field expects a quick report while waiting to be dismissed to see our distance and fastest speed.

We had a surprise this Sunday.

According to the GPS:

Distance 608.00 miles
Duration 2h:14m:39s
Avg Speed 270.9 mph
Max Speed 2125.0 mph

Well, the duration is correct…but this is just hilarious…I guess you can say TPH has the fastest field in history!

Tooo Funny

My Adroid tacked us out hunting once at mock speed hovering in the stratosphere! I’ll have to look it up to compare :winkgrin:

It is funny how much the people in the hunts like the tracking. I know our group is disappointed when I don’t hunt and they don’t get their map and stats.

I haven’t had the weird results with the Garmin GPS but it is a dedicated GPS unit.

The same thing happened to my Android “MyTracks” system back in October. For 3 weeks we had crazy speeds and distance like yours displayed. Odder still it had us hunting 3 states away in TN, in the Great Smokey Mountains. Then one day, it all went back to normal. Go figure.

Here are the stats from one of those whacky tracks. This time we were hunting in Wyoming.

In a little over one hour of moving time we covered over 7300 miles. And I don’t even use spurs on my Quarter horse. :wink:

That’s funny! We just started using our Garmins and I love them for our conditioning rides. Can’t wait to hunt with the!

Too funny. I haven’t gotten any wacky tracks with my iPhone’s Motion X GPS tracker.

I’m always amazed how much faster I go when I’m whipping than when I’m riding with the field or huntsman and trying not to pass!

:lol::lol:

Whoa there nelly!!

Maybe it was sun spots?
Too much caffeine?
Ya’ll gotta leave them spurs at home!
:winkgrin::smiley:
