Grafenstolz? Royaldik? Arg! Help us pick!

That’s a cracking Graf foal BornFree… The best I’ve seen! Mare looks superb as well. I’ve seen a fair few v dissapointing Graf youngsters. He def needs a strong stamp of a mare with good bone. Do love the horse himself tho.
Have met Royaldik& thought he was very light of bone. His way of jumping does not suggest event stallion.

Saw the most incredible looking Kannan foal for sale out of a TB ( Mayhill) mare. Most beautiful looking event bred foal I’ve seen for a long time!

Billy Beware , by Kannan has just been selected for the English team for the WEG & he was superb at Badminton, so scopey & so honest. Do think he looked more like his mother in type though ( Cavalier Royale dam)
Kannans a big lump of a horse himself , not good looking but can certainly throw great horses & has the substance to add to a TB mare. You may well need a super correct uphill mare though.

Kannan is certainly producing some super, but strong types def. UL. Can you get Ramiro B out there, to a TB I have seen some super stock and he seems consistant in what he produces.

I think the problem…like all with event breeding…is there are a lot of different types that can be successful. If you watch the jog at any 4* event…you will see an assortment of very different looking horses.

Breeding the horse with the right mind, heart and athletic ability (and soundness) is tough…then you need to make sure it is match with the right rider.

In the end, I do think the mare is as important as the sire.

I do like both the stallions suggested by the OP…BUT you have to really know your mare and what you think she will bring to the table…and know what type of horse that you want to produce.

I think between these two sires…you will get a different type of horse. An Anglo/Trak. is going to be a VERY different ride than an WB cross. My Graf boy is only 2 but he is SUPER smart and very sensitive. Stupid brave…but he will not suffer fools. He is totally my type of horse. He learns both good and bad VERY fast. This is the type of horse who will excel with one type of rider and in one program…and be a nightmare with another. So you really need to know what you want to produce.
