Grand National is tomorrow.

How can we watch it in the US?

If you have HRTV, they have reassured me (by email back and forth) that they are showing it live, starting at 8:30am. If not, I have 2 streaming links, one for the Channel 4 coverage (Ugh, sorry, I miss the BBC) and one for Racing UK.

Anybody else watching the earlier races on the card? Loved Special Tiara.

Two streams.

The Channel 4 (Network TV) coverage… http://www.vipbox.tv/uk-tv/65475/1/uk-tv---channel-4-live-stream-online.html

RacingUK (dedicated racing channel a la TVG/HRTV) coverage…

What time is the start?

Interview with JP McManus there on Channel 4… says he will not be having a bet on any of his four runners in the National today
This is a man who’s considerable fortune (~$1billion) was initially built on gambling on horses.
What does that tell you?

OK - looks like it’s 4:15 in the UK, so 11:15 here. Think I also saw something about 3:30 as well. Either way, finishing up chores to get back in to watch!

The National goes off at 4:15 local time, which I believe translates to 11:15 in your time zone.

They are off and running in the Liverpool Hurdle G1 right now.

Battle Group!!
Just won the John Smith Handicap Chase 3 miles 1 furlong, by 15 lengths… on Thursday he won a G3 handicap Hurdle over 3 miles at the same track.
What a horse!

I think it’s hopeless for me. I have Hughes Net, which I thought would allow live streaming, and I have Hide My Ass which gives me an in Britain ISP. None of the services that have been listed work, and the delay with the VPN and HughesNet is intolerable.

So please do keep this thread alive. Please!

Katie Walsh’s mount, Seabass is into 7/1 now… those are insanely short odds in a 40 runner race.
Lot of silly/emotional money being bet today methinks.

Viney, try this one, you don’t need a VPN. It’s working fine for me. Just MIND the popups and spyware!

I’ve been watching the British races all morning on HRTV…and now they just cut out to a Santa Anita preview show!! BOO!!! This is awful!

Me too, I am so disappointed!!

There are too many horses in this race.

Seabass into 6/1 now. Second fav is On His Own ridden by Katie’s illustrious brother Ruby.

Lined up… ready for the off…

Hoping for not the carnage of the last couple of years.
