Team standings at the moment:
1 – Germany (80.190%)
2 – Netherlands (75.586%)
3 – USA (75.176%)
4 – Great Britain (75.124%)
5 – Sweden (73.767%)
Less than .5 percentage separate Netherlands, USA and Great Britain, with the strongest combinations yet to go for the Netherlands (Hans Peter) and Great Britain (Charlotte).
Like I said a few weeks ago, I think it would take an act of God for Germany to not win Gold. And as much as I would love to see the USA eke out a medal, I don’t think Laura has a snowflake’s chance in hell to beat Charlotte, or Hans Peter for that matter. Netherlands and Great Britain will be battling for Silver, which puts USA in 4th place (unless Tinne can pull off a big score for Sweden).
And yes, I know team medals won’t be decided until after the GP Special. We can always hope for a miracle, right?
We can always hope! Perhaps we can keep Pokeman on call?!!
I feel like the Brazilian team are being underscored a bit, maybe due to the breed/build of their horses. They are quite a contrast to the Warmbloods on all the other teams.

Yeah I’m afraid you are spot on here!

They’re just a completely different type of horse. They move a completely different way and I wonder if it makes them seem less wonderful when they come in after a horse with extravagant movement.
One of the BRZ riders, the woman (I can’t remember her name) got IIRC a 6-6.5 across the board for her horse’s ‘submission’ which I thought was very surprising. I thought her test was respectable, but the marks said otherwise.

Except there is no stream there??
I think I figured it out as I had the same issue this morning with the BBC streaming. You need to make sure your proxy is really working before going to this link.
I use Private Internet Access (lets me do UK or Canadian IP). I turn on the proxy first, then open my internet browser. If I go to www.bbc.com, if I’m connected properly with the UK proxy, it redirects to www.bbc.co.uk.
Then I open this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/olympics/36708219
If your proxy is working, there is a black and white play button to the left of “Equestrian: Men’s and women’s team dressage.” If it’s not working, it will tell you it’s live with a flashing blue circle but there’s no play button.
I wonder if Carl Hesters scores will be “adjusted”. One of the effected movements (passage) scored both an 8 and a 4, the extended walk both 7.5 and 4 !

I believe this is what I already said. Hard to count NED yet with only two rides to everyone else’s three when they don’t have a drop score.
Afternoon session just started. If you’re a USA viewer watching the NBC livestream, remember to switch to the “afternoon” link.
I’ve been out of the loop the last few years with family stuff, but where is Anky? Did she not have a horse right now?

Given that Lusitanos are Iberian horses, I expected much better collected, uphill work out of them since that is what those horses are bred for and do best, and it just wasn’t strong enough by a long shot. I think back to Fuego XII who exhibited some superb collected work at the WEG 2010–very active, expressive hind and front end in the collected movements which is breed characteristic. Other aspects of his work weren’t as impressive–his extensions were good for such a compact horse but not on par with a leggier WB like Valegro, for example.
I think there is a lot of growth left to do in training, breeding, and competing.

Maybe rollkured horses are falling out of favor.
For some reason my computer won’t load the stream for the afternoon session. Its just the spinning thing. Works fine on my phone.

Close, but not exactly what you said. And I guess I was composing my post when yours went through.
But if you insist - of course, you are always right.
bummer on the bobble 2 tempis, beatriz is killing it otherwise… loved, loved her half pass @ beginning.
eta: she just did the 1 tempis, was the score so low because of lateness?

No, I was first. I had started another post asking for help with live team total updates. When no one replied, I compiled them and just posted the general standings of the moment.

TY. The camera angle showed the tempis across the diagonal, not head on – so I wasn’t sure. Thanks! Always love learning more about what I perceive vs what is actually scored.

I’d love it if that were the case. Just seems like she’s always been there. I remember watching her and Bonfire in Atlanta when I went to those games.
Cothers how do you all like Xama Dos Pinhais ?- I can’t see but I’m super interested
