That was a really nice, calm, pleasant test. I’m watching it again right now (since I know the outcome I’m less stressed). The video angles don’t always make it easy to see things, but it’s nice to see an actual throatlatch. Plus, he sits so nicely and can be so incredibly straight in the tempis. They both make it all look so easy!

I’m not really all that fond of Isabelle Werth who may be the one who first brought rollkur to dressage, has gotten caught doping, and may be the rider who inspired the German FN rule about horse abuse disqualifying from Team consideration , which I cannot recall in its details. That is, I can’t remember if it applies at home as well as at competitions. She spent her time off for doping having a baby.

Vineyridge, I think Nicole Uphoff was one of the first people to use rollkur because Rembrandt was such a handful.

I know! I’ve followed her career since she was 18. Back when she made mistakes in major tests, she’d always say something like “this just wasn’t our day” or “I didn’t ride that very well” or something else like it to the press. In stark contrast to others at the time. Always gracious.
