Many countries in Europe see this as cruelty and it’s illegal to shave these. I believe Germany is one. Similar to not allowing docked tails and cropped ears in the dog show rings.

It is fairly common not to clip them anymore. It is illegal to clip them in Switzerland and Germany now.

I think they completely underscored Diddy on some movements–his piaffe work earlier on easily deserved high sevens/low eights. Only by the final passage/piaffe tour did the scores start to rise.
