Grand Prix Dressage stallions who produce QUIET Grand Prix Quality foals

Another stallion to consider: Farrington. He is standing in the US, so a fresh semen option. Again, you’d have to consider you mare’s conformation, but the KWPN has thought well enough of his offspring to award him the Keur predicate. He is well-known for producing sound, trainable minds with FEI abilities. He did not get to compete as he fractured a leg as a young horse, but he has proven himself as a producer. I know of a couple of Jazz/Farrington crosses, one is Zen Rosa (Farrington x Jazz x Purioso) who I think went Keur eligible, and a Top Ten foal, Bolero (Farrington x Welt Hit II x Jazz) that was a Top Ten foal. I have chatted with Bolero’s new owner and she is VERY happy with him. You couldn’t call it a “nick”, but I tend not to wholeheartedly believe in blindly breeding for so-called “nicks” anyway, though they are a place to start looking…
Please do share with us what you decide! And photos please!

I have 2 mares by jazz, one is very very sensitive, the other is not so sensitive, but has a bit of dirt in her, will kick at you if she is not happy.
Both a very very talented mares, but i think breeding with these type mares brings alot of responsibility, after all someone has to ride the progeny. Here in Australia, there are not that many good riders

The first Jazz mare, the hot one, had her first foal by Sir Donnerhall, what a foal that was, the best i have ever bred, but he was very sensitive

so i put her to rotspon next, i thought the R line might be the go. The rotspon colt is not as sensitive as the Sir Donn, but he is still very panicky for instance if he cant see his friends. I do think the temperament needs further work
i did try For Compliment this year, but it didnt take, so she is in foal to Belissimo now

The other Jazz mare had her first foal to Rascalino, and while he is not that friendly, he is much quieter than the other foal, and has a very workmanlike attitude

I also thought a good holstein line might work well, such as lord sinclair, or the F line

I would love any suggestions on this

We are using Waldaire on our Abundance (by Absatz) granddaughters and are very excited about the nick, particularly on the daughters of Again and Again.
The Dressage Royals are superb as well:

How about Romanov?

R-line ridablity + Grand Prix talent, and the babies I’ve seen are fantastic.

Florencio (if your client is willing to do the EVA protocol). I have a Florencio x Jazz filly that has a superb temperament and movement. She is a doll to work with; very smart and a quick learner. She is the half-sister (same Jazz dam) to Siegi’s Waterloo S.E., by 007 (and I second Siegi’s recommendation of 007 as well). Below is a photo of my Florencio x Jazz filly taken last week, age 2. Also below is a photo of Waterloo (he is the one wearing all the cool loot).

I have a client with a VERY hot Jazz daughter… They are looking to produce a Grand Prix dressage prospect, but want to make very sure that the stallion is not a “HOT” producer…
The mare is EXTREMELY athletic, and has fantastic movement, but tends to be a bit of a brat (unpredictable u/s).
Of course if the foal came out exactly like her we would still be happy, but we want the best chance of it being a bit easier to work with. She is not in any way a “mean” mare, nor does she literally try to kill you… She is just a bit more of a flight type horse u/s.
She has excellent conformation with no flaws to speak of. Great drive from behind, and a great neck shaped neck.

Any ideas?

They were specifically looking at Sir Sinclair, but we wanted to see what other options there are out there…[/QUOTE]

best advice is to get a better broodmare candidate. you cannot ignore what you are breeding to. some mare owners put way too much hope on the stallion. a good stallion moves the mare a bit in correcting or improving, but cannot be expected to replace an un-workmanlike attitude.
