Grand Prix Stallion Suggestions

Hello Everyone,
I am a trainer getting ready to breed a Bellucci - Under Tack xx
mare. She is roughly 17 hh built just like her sire. Stunning dressage movement. She has had several foals and has given birth to very large sons (18 hh).

What I’m looking for is a stallion that produces grand prix offspring. Size matters to me as I am a giant on anything shorter than 17hh. I want quick up front knees and lofty canter.

I have been looking at some Clinton - Heartbreaker stallions and love their jump but not their size.

Musts:
be at least 17hh
have extraordinary jumping
be more forward
have no inbreeding

I don’t know what size Cornet O throws, but he is my dream stud.

How about Coconut Grove? They probably have some frozen semen as he is gone. Or Bon Balou? Cunningham? to mention a few…

Spycoast Farms has a bunch of jumping stallions including Big Star. Not sure of their heights though. And Big Star is $$$

From Beowulf the other day. Seems like a great option.

Isn’t Jonkheer Z huge?

Clintord (by Clinton) is tall & super scopey. He stands at Cross Creek West, Michelle Parker’s barn.

I like Jonkheer Z a lot - he’s been on my radar for a while… just a fun horse to watch. I love, love, love his slinky canter.

He throws huge, and he is a very big horse himself… so if your mare is secretly a chalicotherium posing as a horse I might not breed to him as IMHO the bigger horses seem to get soundness issues. 18h is pretty big and well beyond the scope of the horse’s natural bauplan… but his youngsters look NICE.

Just curious, why no inbreeding - do you mean no line-breeding? I don’t think you can throw a rock without hitting a horse with some percentage of linebreeding – especially in the WB stud books.

16.3, but oh my goodness…

Cassini II is producing some of the beat young jumpers around, and is quite tall, don’t know exactly how many hh.
Indoctro is another really good one, but offspring are in the 16. 2 range more often than not

What happens with Indoctro is the colts are often very tall, but not so much the mares. He is not a big stallion himself.

Kathy

Yeah our indoctro mare wasnt big, maybe 16.1? And lean.

And we referred to her as “the ugly one”.
