Gray horse show name..

Next year I hope to start mini-eventing. I have a 15.3hh gray gelding with dark knees/hocks and a some dapples on his hindquarters. He has a darker gray mane/tail, so he is not a snow white gray yet. His registered name is foreign and hard to pronounce, so I’m trying to think of a catchy show name that won’t get muffed by the announcer

Here are some initial ideas, and would love feedback or others if ya got 'em! I’m sticking to color-themed names as I’ll go bonkers trying to think of random names!

Iron Man
Icy Hot
Ice Man
Pearl Jam
Icicle

Silver Streak

Faded Coal

DustBunny

Fade To Gray

Steel Warrior

don’t laugh.

Wash Me

What’s his registered name? Maybe there are some ideas out of that?

Stock In Shampoo

Polar Vortex!

Believe me, his reg. foreign name, which consists of several vowels and one consonant would NOT be helpful

Of the 5 names in my OP, I’m leaning towards

Pearl Jam
Icy Hot
Iron Man

Though Polar Vortex is a very relevant term that is current and catchy!! Hmmm…leads me to Polar Express ?!

Quicksilver

Oooh, I like Quicksilver, but my laidback guy is anything but “quick”. I guess no one else would know, but I’d feel a little dishonest!

Url Grey comes to mind. The “U” is on purpose - after his sire’s name

Gracious

what’s his barn name?

Come Shine: Gracious. OK, you guys are too clever! That also spawns: Graceful!

GG: He doesn’t have a barn name.

Gandalf
Silver Fox
Gray Gatsby
Gray Expectations
Shades of Gray

FOG

To keep the “U”: Used To Be Bay (I’m guessing, since you said the mane was darker)
of course, with a grey, there is always Used To Be Clean!

A friend has a grey eventing mare named Graceful, how about Grateful?

Yaya: He “Used to be Black” I love all these suggestions. I may have to use a different name at each show to take advantage of all the terrific names you’ve all suggested!

So far I’m leaning towards:

Url Grey
Pearl Jam
Gray Gatsby

I like the one-worders … Icicle and Fog  Especially if he has a super long fancy registered name. It makes it kind of understated. I remember going to a sheepdog trial and loving their simple names … Tweed, Moss, etc

I would avoid Iron Man, considering there is a fairly prominent Oldenburg stallion named Ironman already. I’m not much help, not really a fan of color-based names myself, but good luck!

Silver Dollar

Whatever you pick, I always recommend checking here so that there aren’t multiples http://useventing.com/competitions/profile-horse-search.

I like:
Url Gray (my favorite tea and the spelling is cute, although in the modern era, an announcer might say u-r-l).

Banked flames

The Ashes

Grey Street
