Grey Dressage Stallions

Who are your favorite dressage stallions with a good brain that happen to be grey?

There are very few grey dressage stallions

If you can get some FS from Belantis he would be my pick if grey was crucial, Belantis has been gelded but is a super type

Royal Diamond (dec) would be an option if you can source FS

Look at Fairbanks. Love that his pedigree isn’t the usual S/F/D/R soup, plus he is WFFS N/N to boot.

Lord Locksley comes immediately to mind.

There is one other TK stallion I cannot for the life of me remember, who was grey and proven to improve ridability/temperament… maybe once my coffee kicks in…

Stiletto, maybe? (but he’s not homozygous…)

ATA’s list of approved stallions has a column for color, which is pretty handy: http://americantrakehner.com/Stallions/index.asp

Maybe it is not a TK stallion… but I could have sworn it was. A new day and this is still bothering me! It was a stallion local to me (Area 1 Eventing / Region 9) too… but it’s been years…

Are you thinking of Tarquinn? [h=3]http://www.cantrak.on.ca/stallion_tarquinn_for_sale.htm[/h]

How about Virginia Sky? All his babies I have meet have wonderful temperaments and are easy to handle/start. http://www.virginiansky.com/

Thank you so much everyone! I will look at these boys!

No experience with either of these, but two grays I can think of:

Helgstrand dressage has a young grey stallion by Sezuan standing called Torveslettens Sylvester

Tailormade Lancelot

FWIW, Belantis has excellent frozen semen.

Formula One?

Lord Locksley is currently competing in Para Dressage internationally… and winning! I think that speaks volumes to his temperament.
Stiletto is also super… had a career in eventing and dressage

The ATA SSA will be starting up Feb 1! http://americantrakehner.com/Stallions/StallionAuction.asp

fwiw Stiletto is lovely and so so kind and personable.
