Guests, a gentle reminder from your secretary

It is very nice of you to put your capping fee in a carrier of some sort with your name on it! Especially if it is cash.

I saw envelopes and sandwich bags yesterday and both are great.

In the hustle and bustle, it’s very easy for us to forget who slipped us that greenback that’s now in our pocket. We know it’s someone’s cap fee, but we can’t quite remember whose…

If you cap, as soon as you get there, go up to the sec. and give her your signed release you got from the website and your cap with your name on it! How hard is that?

Roger that!

We at the Snobbington Hunt also prefer that you include your photo as we can’t remember who you are later!! Then we won’t keep coming up to you and asking…“do I know you?” Have we rec’d your cap yet? Are you a guest? Are you single?..woops…no…we don’t ask that…
Here…have a sip of this and tell me your life story!!:lol:

I’m a good guest. I put everything into an envelope, including a business card. Have the Coggins and hunting license at the ready. Always introduce myself and say Good Morning to the Master(s).

I was a Field Secretary and it is a freakin’ thankless job. Folks who can do it and resist the urge to strangle people have my complete respect. Hats off to all of you!!!

Oh, if only we had a website & our release was on it!

But, I think many people just don’t know that they should seek me out rather than the other way around. I’m ready for it, though.

I arrive very early to a meet. Or, I pass the whole thing off to our treasurer if I’m not going to be there.

What I learned Sunday is to have some envelopes in my pocket. We have a tally sheet, but that’s on a clipboard. I need envelopes/pen in my pocket for when I’m not dragging around the clipboard.

I assume you also want a note about our flask contents? In case you need to do a “quality check” later on?

Yes, I can see you are a good guest.
Secretaries everywhere thank you!

I’ll have to remember the sandwich bag and business card tips!

We’d better if they’re an adult male! I believe it is my job as Whoopie Wagon Field Master to inspect contents of flasks

I suppose if a single, good looking, adult (employed) male showed up at a hunt, he might need to bring several business cards with him, not just one for the secretary

Now, WG-you know you need the photo so you can identify guests (moi, for example) who might splat into the mud face first…that makes it easier for the EMT crew and ER docs to know who we are…before they cut off boots…
