Guide to all things Pony? - and, meet Grundy

I missed it. Where did Shayney end up that Old Man was alone?

She’s on lease with a super awesome gal who may buy her.

Hold on, I might be able to top it! For context, this was when I had a Welsh pony named Gwen that I was thinking about breeding, and I had just told him the amount of a stud fee, for which he thought the relevant unit of volume was “bucket”:

(Sorry for the little threadjack, OP.)

Grundy is wasting no time making herself at home, they took turns sleeping outside the last two nights (she sleeps a ton!) and do group drinking.

I like how your divided area turned out. Everyone can still come and go all while being safe! It looks great.

Thanks! I’m hoping someday everyone can get along without needing separation, but at this time this is the easiest way. Grundy is bizarre, never ever makes nasty faces at him over the wall or through the fence, but I know what she’s capable of.

Rainy nasty day. Grundy got introduced to a blow dryer, and got properly sticked. She’s currently 13.3.

Matching rubber duckys. Grundy’s is long like a dress but length is right. Had to tie a knot in the surcingle straps to get them short enough

Ha! I saw those rubber ducky blankets somewhere and thought they were adorable.

I like the utility of those IBC tanks for your hay troughs. Do you bind down the hay with a net?

Have you ridden Grundy since she got home? Noticing anything different other than her being pleasant around the fence? How is your old man BTW?

The hay is netted, yes. I like the natural eating posture, even if the feeders look kinda trashy. The blue one held rolls of fencing.

I haven’t ridden her yet, the weather has not been cooperative. I went out and watched her get worked every week she was there, and she’s going to be a tough cookie. I think she will come around, but it will be awhile. That’s ok, it will take as long as it takes. I’ll keep plinking away at it.

The Old Man is good! Still lame on that bum leg but the swelling doesn’t build as fast. I’m going to start leaving him unwrapped overnight and see how it goes.

I like Grundy. I knew from the videos she was not very broke (the kid had his hand on a nightlatch the whole time). Her tricky part is that she checks out. Literally eyes closed, goodbye, I cant process this. So, giving her lots of opportunities to release and “come back” if you will. And, she’s an ass about food.

I also had to knot the surcingles for the donkey but otherwise I like the fit! :duck:
