gullets in Wintec vs Thorowgood

My Wintec saddle seems to fit my horse pretty well with a red “wide” gullet. I attempted to trace her shape and she looks like a white “extra wide” gullet on Thorowgood’s chart. I’m wondering if anyone has experience with how the gullets compare? The seller of the Thorowgood saddle sent me a photo comparing the two gullets, and the white T’good is wider. If the saddles are padded differently though I imagine the gullets could be an equal fit.

I had a chance to put a Kent and Masters jumping saddle with an orange “W/XW” gullet on my horse and it looked strange, likely too narrow but it didn’t seem like it contacted her back correctly.

The T’good is a T6 GP if that matters. I know it may be shaped differently from the Wintec, but I hope it will work since it looks like a good flap shape for my long thigh.

Wintecs have a flatter tree front to back. The standard tree on the Thorowgood (R gullet) is curvier and won’t work on a horse with a very flat back. The Thorowgood Cob Tree (S gullet) is flatter and more similar to the Wintec tree.

There are different kinds of kent and Masters- the R and S gullets. For different horses. Original Jump vs S-Line

Wintecs and thorowgoods seem to be better for A framed horses like TB and not so much for wide backed morgans, andys, etc.

I have both sitting at home. If I can remember to check, I’ll compare the two medium-narrows I have and see if there is a difference.
