H/J Barns in Baytown, Texas area (East of Houston)

Hey everyone,

I live in Houston and am pretty familiar with the barns in the area, but need some help/info for a friend. She is moving to the Baytown area and has asked me for advice for a good barn to keep her horse. She shows once in a while but is mainly focused on finding a place with great care for her gelding. He’s still in work but is a senior and can stop sweating in the summer (not the easiest keeper). Care and night turnout are big priorities.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Most barns I know are far from Baytown (Magnolia, Cypress, etc) and Googling hasn’t been much help. Thanks!

Krissan Barber at Blackjack Lane in Mont Belvieu could be a good option

If your friend is willing to drive down to the Kemah area, Bayview Equestrian Center is pretty well established with decent facilities. Construction on 146 through Seabrook/Kemah has been horrendous but the new bridge was recently opened so traffic should be improving.

Seconding Krissan!

She is a great teacher and caretaker. She has a good sized indoor, turnout, and has done a ton of improvements to the place she bought. Her husband and she literally live down the street, practically on property. She’s also got a great group of people in her corner. She does attend shows and also hosts Outreach shows at her facility!
