H/J barns near Athens, GA

Hi, all! Im in veterinary school at the University of Georgia in Athens and would love to get back into riding while I’m here! I’m looking into barns near here (or even around Atlanta) that would provide lessons to someone without their own horse. I know prices are insane everywhere right now, but ideally I would love a place that isn’t insanely expensive since I am a broke student. Would love any input!

P.S. if anyone knows how to look for places/people that need exercise riders, please let me know!

Add Georgia to your title for more response. There are many Athens in many states and countries. Many browse on here and don’t open threads that are not location specific. I almost skipped it thinking it was somebody in Greece.

UGA has an NCEA equestrian team. I would reach out to them for a list of suggested local barns. I’m sure you won’t be the first to ask.

Pecan Lane is an A circuit program but also has an academy program, so it is at least worth reaching out to check their options and pricing. High Point is another option.

Pecan lane stopped doing their big lesson program a year or two ago, but still have 1 or 2 lesson horses I believe. Price per lesson there was very fair, once you get into training board it is on the higher end of costs I’ve seen but with beautiful facility and good care so worth it. I loved my time at Pecan lane. Promenade farm is another in the area that I have heard good things about, no idea if they have lesson horses.
